A cancer diagnosis changes lives – not only for those affected, but also for everyone around them. With “Akte Leben. Der Pink Ribbon Podcast”, Pink Ribbon Deutschland has launched a five-part podcast series exploring breast cancer from different perspectives. At its heart are personal experiences, medical expertise and the questions that arise in everyday life with cancer.

Hosted by Alexandra Kröber and Vanessa Eichholz, the podcast combines personal stories with insights from medical experts. The five episodes cover nutrition, innovative therapies, clinical trials, managing side effects and cancer-related fatigue.

At first glance, these topics may sound quite medical and scientific. But the podcast brings together expert knowledge and the personal experiences of people affected by cancer.

From Recording to Release

At We Are Producers, we were responsible for the entire audio production of this project. This began with recording the expert interviews, with guests joining remotely. In a very short time, we sent out eight podcast recording kits to locations across Germany.

We then recorded the interviews between the two hosts and the people affected by cancer at our studio in Berlin. Especially when dealing with such a personal and sensitive subject, creating a welcoming atmosphere was important to us – a space where everyone could feel comfortable and speak openly about their experiences.

Following the recordings, we handled post-production, set up the podcast hosting and managed the release of all five episodes.

With today’s release of the final episode, focusing on “Fatigue”, all five episodes are now available.
