Sprechende Akten (2022)

Customer: Landesarchiv Baden-Württemberg

The Landesarchiv Baden-Württemberg makes history tangible – it secures Baden-Württemberg’s archival records, among other things, and makes them accessible to all interested parties. With the Sprechende Akten project – which means Speaking Files – we brought a part of German history back to life.

After the Second World War, the still young Federal Republic offered reparations to the victims and persecutees of the Nazi regime. As part of the elaborately produced podcast Sprechende Akten, six individual case files of reparations were selected. In each of the five episodes, we retell the story of the victims with audio play-like sequences, tracing their backgrounds, their social interactions, the suffering they experienced under the National Socialist regime, and the sometimes very laborious and grueling process of reparations.

We were responsible for the complete audio production of the podcast: from the conception, the creation of the scripts, the selection and recording of the speakers, the sound design, the composition of the music, mixing, mastering to the creation of the cover design and advising the client on the publication.

You can find more information in our blog article Geschichte wird wieder lebendig durch “Sprechende Akten”.
