Susi was released on 07.07.2020 as a seven-part fiction podcast exclusively on Spotify. The complex audioplay production directed by Nilz Bokelberg is a mixture of quirky comedy and dystopian tech thriller and features a top-class cast with Bastian Pastewka, Martina Hill, Almila Bagriacik, Alexander Scheer and many more. Susi is the German adaption of the US format Sandra produced by Gimlet Media. In addition to the translation, director Nilz Bokelberg also did the localization, adapting cultural references, dialogue and locations for the German version. Thus, the story is set in the small town of Plön and shows a world in which artificial intelligence is not as artificial as it seems.
WE ARE PRODUCERS was responsible for the entire audio production on this project. This included the recording of over 40 voice actors as well as the sound design, which we created especially for the German realization of the audioplay. In addition, the mixing and mastering of Susi was also part of our tasks.
