With over 30,000 employees in 76 institutes at more than 40 locations, the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft is the address for applied science in the German-speaking world. Over the course of its history, it has developed a large number of groundbreaking solutions for industry and science. Probably the best-known innovation is the mp3 format, which has not only revolutionized the audio market.
Today, Fraunhofer continues to develop solutions for the current problems of our time, from cyber security to the environmentally friendly use of water.
We are therefore all the more excited that, together with journalist Annette Weiß from Funkenweiss and radio presenter Sven Oswald, we were able to create the podcast format “Im Auftrag der Zukunft” (On a mission for the future) with our client in summer 2024, which provides insights into these exciting areas of research. Annette Weiß and Sven Oswald alternate between leading the episodes, each of which deals with a current research topic. In several short interviews, they talk to researchers from various Fraunhofer Institutes and in some cases also to representatives of companies that are already benefiting from the scientific developments.
The We Are Producers team is responsible for the audio production of the podcast, which is published every two weeks. An individual sound design was conceived and produced for the format.
