I moved to Berlin a few days ago and met the Producers and the studio for the first time in real life. Well… and now they’ve got me on their hands for the next three months!

I am from the beautiful city Marburg in Hessen (Germany), where I studied Media Studies for my Bachelor’s degree. I grew up in a medium-sized town in Niedersachsen where there are more walking frames on the streets than stores in the city center. Despite this – or perhaps because of it – I have now moved to the big city of Berlin. I’ve heard that the trains even run several times an hour here. Amazing! Right?

In the last six months, I’ve already done several internships in different areas of the media sector. I worked as part of the production management team at Studio Hamburg in the television production, then gained my first recording studio experience at Superhearo Audio in Hamburg and then got to know the Federal Department for the Protection of Children and Young People in the Media in Bonn. Then came Christmas and now I’m here :)

I’m a social media grouch. I like to try out new sport, explore Berlin as long as I’m here, knit socks while stre

aming Friends or listen to the new season of Lost in Neulich or to my favorite podcast DRINNIES. Animals and the environment are very important to me. In Marburg I’m living together with two dogs, a cat, four chickens, three fish, a vet and her daughter. Sometimes we also have some guinea pigs, rabbits or even more dogs to look after. So there’s always something going on here.

I’m curious and I love trying out new things. Before I started my studies, I volunteered at a children’s and youth hospital in Hanover. Since then, alongside my studies, I’ve been volunteering at educational seminars for volunteers and I am on the regional board of the International Youth Community Services (ijgd). I am easily inspired and have a strong capacity for empathy. This is partly because of my ADHD neurodiversity, but I use this to my advantage in most situations.

I’m really looking forward to being involved in podcast recordings, working with ProTools and supporting the producers with their work in the studio. I hope to learn a lot of new things, start my own little project and, at best, find out what I want to be when I grow up ;P

All the best

Yours, Gina!
